The smell of hot oil and spices is always in the air here. It is a family-run kind of thing, even if we are located in an industrial estate. We started because we liked making traditional snacks that people actually want to eat with their daily tea. We have big vats for frying and long benches for packing everything into bags. It is a lot of manual work for the staff. We have to be very careful with the recipes so the taste does not change from batch to batch. Sometimes the heat from the big stoves is almost too much in the summer months. We sell to local shops and sometimes people just stop by the estate to buy bags directly from us. The GIDC area is always busy with big trucks, so getting in and out can be a pain. We are not trying to be some massive international brand. We just want to make good snacks that taste like they should. Our office is just a small corner partitioned off from the main kitchen area. It is where we keep the books and take orders. It is a simple life, focused on food and making sure the quality stays decent.
