Palanquin Charitable Foundation

You can find us at C-202 in Vande Residency, which is located right next to the Dabhoi Dashalad Bhavan on the Waghodia Ring Road in Vadodara. It’s a pretty busy intersection with a lot of traffic, but once you step inside the residency, it gets surprisingly quiet. Palanquin Charitable Foundation is run by a small group of us who live locally. We have a modest office space where we manage all of our different activities. The ring road location is actually very convenient because it makes it easy for people to reach us from almost any part of the city. We chose this specific spot because it felt central and easy to explain to people. There’s not much in the way of decoration in our office; we just have the essentials like a big table, a few chairs, and a metal cabinet for our files. We usually spend our mornings going through all the requests that come in and our afternoons trying to figure out how to fulfill them. It involves a lot of logistics and spending time on the phone. We don’t have a big staff, so everyone here ends up doing a little bit of everything. Sometimes we’re all out on the road at the same time and the office stays empty for a few hours. We try to be as hands-on as we can. It’s a lot of work, but we like staying busy and being involved in the community.
