Akshar Purashottam Gaushala

Akshar Purashottam Gaushala is located out in Sakarda. It’s a place where we keep the cows and take care of them every day. There isn't much to say about us other than we are just people who like being around animals. Sakarda is a quiet area, away from the big noise of the city. We spend most of our time cleaning the sheds, feeding the cows, and making sure they have enough water. It is hard work and it starts very early in the morning, usually before the sun is even up. We don't have a fancy office or any corporate staff. It’s mostly just a few of us who know how to handle the animals and keep the place running. The smell of hay and the sound of the cows is what we are used to. People from the village sometimes come by to help or to get milk. We don't do any big advertising. If you live around here, you just know that the gaushala is at Sakarda. We use simple tools and follow the old ways of doing things. It works for us and the animals seem happy enough. Some days are tougher than others, especially when the weather is very hot or during the heavy rains when everything gets muddy. But the cows need us regardless of the weather. We just stay here and do the work that needs to be done. It’s a simple life and we don't ask for much more than a bit of rain for the grass and some healthy calves every season. It keeps us quite busy.
