Maharani Shantadevi Smarak Trust

Over on L V Palace Road, right in the Kismat Building, you’ll find where we handle things for the Maharani Shantadevi Smarak Trust. It’s a bit of an old area on Pases Road, and the building itself has that classic feel you don't see much in newer parts of town. We spend a lot of our days going through records and managing the different things the trust looks after. It’s a lot of paperwork and talking to people who come by with questions. The location is pretty central, so we get a fair amount of foot traffic. It’s not a high-tech office with glass walls or anything. We have wooden cupboards full of files and old photos that remind us why this trust was started in the first place. Sometimes the traffic outside on the main road gets really loud, but inside it stays relatively quiet. We try to keep things running smoothly, even if the stairs are a bit steep for some of the older visitors. People come to us for various reasons, maybe looking for help or just wanting to learn about the history we represent. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We don’t have a big marketing team or social media managers. It’s just a couple of us who know the history and want to make sure things are done the right way. Working in such a historical part of the city makes you appreciate the old ways of doing things.
