Mayur Sweet & Farsan

Mayur Sweet & Farsan is our family business located at Khethwadi C-14/66 in Gorwa 10. We spend most of our day making different types of farsan and sweet treats for the local folks. The morning starts early with the sound of the big stove and the smell of gram flour being cooked. We have a counter filled with snacks like gathiya, bhakarwadi, and papdi which people love to buy fresh while they are still a bit warm. It’s a modest shop, and the paint is peeling a bit near the ceiling because of the steam from the kitchen. We don't have any fancy displays or neon signs, just the food in steel trays. People from the nearby houses in Gorwa come by every evening for their snacks. It’s a very local atmosphere here, and we talk to everyone. We know who likes their snacks extra salty and who wants more sugar in their sweets. Sometimes we get very large orders for local festivals or weddings, and the whole family has to come in and help pack the boxes until late at night. The street outside can be quite dusty, so we keep the glass covers on everything very tightly. It’s a lot of manual work, standing over the heat all day long, but it’s what we've always done for a living. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town, just a reliable place.
