Engimech Industries

If you head down to Plot No. 723 in the Gidc Estate, you’ll find Engimech Industries. We’ve been operating out of this shed for years. It’s a typical industrial setup where there is always something being cut or assembled. We do a lot of mechanical work, mostly involving steel and parts for other businesses nearby. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by midday, but we sweep up before heading home. It's a small team here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from unloading the trucks to operating the heavy presses. We don't have a big reception area or a receptionist. Usually, if someone walks in, they just talk to whoever is closest to the door. The weather gets pretty hot inside during the summer months, but we’ve got big fans to keep the air moving while we work. We’ve had some of the same customers for a long time because they know we just get the job done without making a big fuss about it. It’s not a complicated place. We take the orders, look at the specs, and start the machines. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate and we have to wait it out, but that’s just part of being here. We keep our tools sharp and our hands busy most of the week. There’s always a bit of grease on the door handles, but that just shows we’re actually working in here. We like the routine of it.
