Mandap Restaurant

We are located inside the Hotel Express Towers on R C Dutt Road. If you know the Alkapuri area in Vadodara, we are right across from the Canara Bank. Mandap has been around for a long time. We focus on serving the kind of food people in this city grew up eating. The decor hasn't changed much over the years. We use heavy wooden chairs and the lighting is a bit dim. It feels like someone's home or an old community hall. Our cooks have been with us for ages. They know exactly how much salt and spice to put in the dal without even thinking about it. We serve thalis mostly. People come in, sit down, and we start bringing out the bowls. It’s a fast-paced environment during lunch. We get a lot of office workers from the buildings nearby. In the evenings, it's more families coming in. We don't do anything fancy with the presentation. The food is just put on the plate and served hot. We spend a lot of time sourcing the right vegetables from the local market every morning. The noise in the kitchen can get a bit loud when we’re busy, and the smells of the spices carry out into the hallway. We just try to keep the tables clean and the water glasses full. It’s a straightforward restaurant. No music, just the sound of people talking and spoons hitting plates. We like it that way.
