Laxmi General Store

We’re located on Jetalpur Road in Vadodara, right across from the Reliance Fresh. It’s a busy part of the 390020 zip code. Even with the big stores nearby, we’ve kept our little general store going. We sell the basic things that families need—snacks, soaps, lentils, and everyday items. The shop is usually a bit crowded with bags and boxes because we try to fit as much as we can inside. It’s not the most organized place, but we can usually find what you’re looking for if you give us a second. We open up early and usually stay open until the street gets quiet at night. People come to us when they just need one or two things and don’t want to stand in a long line at the supermarket. We talk to the regulars about the weather or how the local traffic is getting worse. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll often see one of us sitting behind the counter reading the paper or checking the stock. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy keeping the shelves full. We’ve been here for a long time and have seen Jetalpur Road change quite a bit. It’s a decent place to work and we like seeing the familiar faces of the neighborhood every day. We just keep things practical and do our best to stay stocked up.
