Khandelwal Sajavat Store has been part of Vadodara 59 for a while now. When you walk in, you’ll probably see things piled up a bit because we try to keep a lot in stock. It’s a local shop, and we like it that way. We don't have those bright, blinding lights you see in the big malls. It’s more of a cozy, slightly messy space where you can find what you need if you look for a minute. The staff here are just regular people from the neighborhood. We know most of our customers by face, if not by name. It’s nice when someone comes in and tells us about the event they’re planning. We don’t do big fancy marketing or anything. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first person to walk in. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, other days it’s a mad rush. Vadodara is a great city to live in, and being in area 59 feels like home to us. We’ve got some regulars who have been coming to us for years. We just try to keep the shelves full and the prices fair. It’s not rocket science, just a local store trying to do its part. We usually have a bit of music playing on a small radio behind the counter to keep us going through the long afternoon hours.
