Anas Home Decor

Anas Home Decor is situated at 101 Rajmahal Road near the Race Course. It’s a decent sized shop but it feels smaller because of all the fabric rolls and samples we have piled up. We spend most of our time measuring out cloth or showing people different patterns for their curtains and cushions. The street outside is usually quite busy with people heading towards the race course, so there is a lot of foot traffic. We have large windows in the front, but we usually block them with displays of rugs or new materials we just got in. The floor is covered in scraps of thread and bits of paper most of the time because we are always cutting things. It’s a bit messy, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working with your hands. We don’t have a big sales pitch or anything. We just let people walk around and touch the fabrics to see what they like. Some of our customers have been coming to us for years, ever since their parents first brought them here. We use an old metal measuring tape that has some of the numbers worn off, but we know it by heart. The lighting inside isn't perfect, so we often take samples to the door to show people how the colors look in real sunlight. It’s just a practical shop for people who want to fix up their houses a bit without spending too much.
