Gujarat Handicraft

Our shop is on Plot No. 372 in Danilimda. We are right opposite the Aalishan Shopping Centre and very close to the bus stop. It is a good spot because people see us while they wait for their bus. Gujarat Handicraft is full of things made by hand. We have fabrics, bits of wood carvings, and colorful items everywhere. The place is a bit cluttered. It’s hard to keep it tidy when new stock arrives. We have a lot of stuff from different villages. Each piece is different. Some have loose threads or slight marks because they aren't made by machines. That is just how it is. We spend our days showing people the work and explaining what the materials are. It gets dusty because of the road right outside. We use a feather duster a lot. The sun hits the front window in the afternoon, making it quite warm inside. We have a small stool for customers to sit on if they want to look at something closely. It is a humble shop. We like the things we sell. They have a bit of character. Most of our regulars are from the neighborhood or people passing through. We wrap everything in brown paper and tie it with string. It is a slow way of doing things but it feels right. We are usually here from morning until late evening when the street gets quiet. It’s a simple business built on things people make at home.
