Kehateshvar Sweet & Farsan Mart

Kehateshvar Sweet & Farsan Mart has been sitting here in Nizampura Gadital Hadapsar for a good while. 273 is the shop number if you are looking for us among all the other buildings. It gets really hot in the back where we fry the farsan and boil the sugar for the sweets. My shirt is usually soaked by noon but that is just how it is when you work with big kadhais. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here because of the smell of the spices hitting the oil. The morning starts with us stacking the glass cases with fresh batches of whatever we made that morning. It is a lot of lifting and moving heavy trays around. We have some regulars who come in every single day for their packet of snacks before they go home. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come in looking for something sweet and we have to tell them to wait a minute while we finish packing an order. The counter is a bit scratched up from all the coins and bags over the years. We keep the place as clean as we can but with flour and sugar everywhere it is a constant job. We aren't trying to be a big chain or anything. We just like making the traditional stuff the way we learned it. It is a simple life running a sweet shop in Hadapsar.
