Kamlesh Provision Stores

Karelibaug is where we’ve been for quite a while now. Most people around here know the shop just by walking past it every day. We open up Kamlesh Provision Stores pretty early, usually when the sun is just coming up and the street is still quiet. It’s a lot of work keeping everything on the shelves. One day it’s heavy bags of rice, the next it’s small boxes of matches or different types of soaps. People come in for their daily things, maybe some tea leaves or a bit of sugar. Sometimes they stay to chat for a minute about the weather or how the local roads are getting crowded. It isn’t fancy here. The floor has some marks and the shelves are old wood, but it works for what we do. We try to keep what people ask for most. If someone needs something specific, we write it down on a scrap of paper so we don't forget to get it next time the truck comes by. The fan overhead makes a little bit of noise when it's on high, but you get used to it after an hour or two. It’s just how things go in this part of town. We’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own houses now. It makes the days feel like they mean something more than just selling stuff and counting change at the end of the night.
