Kailash Grain Shop

Kailash Grain Shop is located in Vadodara, over in the Begampura area at Uvaish Palace, Tulsifalya. This isn't a mobile shop like so many others, but a place where we deal in grains and food staples. You can smell the flour and the spices as soon as you walk through the door. We have big sacks of rice and wheat stacked up against the walls, and the floor is usually a bit dusty from all the heavy bags being moved around. The building, Uvaish Palace, is an old one, and it has a lot of character, even if the walls are a bit uneven. We have been serving the people of Tulsifalya for a long time. It is a very local vibe here, and most of our customers are housewives from the neighborhood who have been buying from us since my father ran the place. We use an old set of scales that we have had forever, though we have a digital one now too for certain things. There is always a bit of a line in the mornings when people are shopping for their daily meals. We don't have any fancy displays, just the open sacks and the wooden scoops. It is a lot of heavy lifting and measuring, but we like being a part of the daily life in Begampura. The shop stays busy until late evening when the street finally starts to quiet down.
