Jay Shiv Shankar Provision Store

Jay Shiv Shankar Provision Store is situated on Jetalpur Road in the city of Vadodara. We are located right near the police station, so it always feels like a very safe spot for a business. You can see the police vehicles coming and going from the station all through the day. Jetalpur Road is quite a wide street, but it still gets very jammed with traffic during the morning and evening office hours. Our shop has a very wide front opening so that people can easily see what we have inside. I usually keep the large bins of rice and various pulses right near the entrance. The smell of the different spices is quite strong when you first walk through the door. I have been working in this spot for several years now and I know all the little quirks of the building. I know where the roof might leak when it rains and which light bulb in the back is likely to flicker. It is just a normal, everyday provision store for the neighborhood. We don't have any fancy uniforms or special signs. I usually just wear my regular clothes and maybe an apron if I am moving around the dusty sacks of grain. The local families come in to get their monthly food supplies. We have a small handwritten ledger for our regular customers, which makes everything much easier to track at the end of the month.
