Jay Mataji Provision Store

Jay Mataji Provision Store is right in the heart of the Main Bazar, near the Gram Panchayat office. Since we are near the government office, we get a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. I have been running this place with my brother for about ten years. We sell grains, pulses, and general items like soap and shampoo. The shop is old and the wooden shelves have seen better days, but they hold everything just fine. The Main Bazar is a noisy place, especially on market days. We enjoy the chaos, though. It keeps us busy. We do not have a big staff, just us and sometimes a helper to carry the heavy bags of rice. We do not believe in fancy marketing or anything like that. We just put our items out and people buy them. Sometimes we run out of things if the truck does not arrive on time, but our customers are patient. They know us and we know them. We often talk about the weather or local news while I am packing their bags. It feels like we are part of a big family here in Vadodara. We open at eight in the morning and stay until late at night. It is a lot of work, but it is our own business. We just want to keep serving the local people as we always have done for years.
