Jay Mahisagar Provision

Jay Mahisagar Provision is located right near the NH 8 highway in Vadodara. You can find us directly opposite the pumping house, which is the main landmark for this part of town. Because we are so close to the highway, we see a lot of people who are just driving through the city on their way somewhere else. They often pull their cars or big trucks over to the side and come in to grab some snacks or a cold bottle of water. The pumping house across the street makes a very steady humming noise all day long, but you eventually get used to it. The ground outside the shop is mostly gravel and dirt because of all the road work that seems to happen on NH 8. I keep a couple of plastic stools outside for people who want to sit down for a minute and rest. The sun hits the front of the shop very hard in the afternoon, so we have a faded blue awning that provides a little bit of shade for the entrance. It is not a fancy looking store with bright neon lights or anything like that. We just have basic metal shelves and a small refrigerator that hums quite loudly. Vadodara is a busy city, but this stretch of road feels a bit different. I spend a lot of my time checking the stock to make sure we have everything people might need. It is simple work but it keeps me going.
