Jai Ambe Cold Corner & Provision Stores

Jai Ambe Cold Corner & Provision Stores is situated right on Prof Manekrao Road, near the Khanderao Market in the Kevdabaug area. This part of the city is always full of noise and people. Being near the market means there is constant movement. We sell cold drinks, water, and various grocery items. On hot days, the fridge is the most important thing in the shop. We keep it stocked with sodas and juices. The shop is a bit cramped because we try to fit a lot of things in a small space. We have sacks of grain sitting on the floor and shelves reaching up to the ceiling. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't had the time to close the shop for that. My day starts early when the milk crates arrive. We deal with all sorts of people, from vegetable vendors to office workers. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud we have to shout to hear the customers. We don't have a computer system, we just know the prices by heart. It’s a bit chaotic but it works for us. My nephew helps me during the lunch hour rush. We try to have a bit of everything so people don't have to go to multiple shops. It’s just a normal provision store in a very busy part of town. We’ve been here long enough that the sounds of the market feel like home.
