Jagdish Khaman House

We are located in Karelibaug on Thoppa Mudaliar Street, which is right on Bank Road. If you are near the Pani Ki Tanki, we are just a short walk away from that landmark. We spend most of our time in the back getting the big steamers ready for the day. Making khaman is what we do every single morning without fail. The smell of the mustard seeds and green chillies usually hits the street pretty early. It is a crowded area with lots of people walking to the bank or heading toward the water tank. Our shop is not very large, but we make the space work for us. We have been in this exact spot for a long time now. The floors are a bit worn down from all the feet walking in and out over the years. We do not really do any fancy packaging or things like that. We just put the food on the plates or in the paper bags and that is it. Sometimes the line gets a bit long on Sunday mornings. We try to move as fast as we can but we only have so many hands to help out. The weather gets really hot in the summer months, which makes the kitchen even warmer than usual. We just drink some water and keep going. People in the neighborhood know where to find us. It is a simple routine we have followed for years now. We stay busy until the last batch is finally sold.
