Jaanki Super Store

Jaanki Super Store takes up three units at Vithhlesh Avenue, specifically 26, 27, and 28. Being on the main road in Subhanpura means we see a lot of people passing by all day. We are situated right opposite the Anandvan Complex so many residents from there just walk across to get their items. The shop is quite large compared to others around here because we combined the spaces. We stock everything from large bags of rice to small items like matchboxes. The shelves are quite tall and sometimes we have to use a small ladder to reach the stuff on the top. It gets very dusty because of the traffic on the main road so we spend a lot of time wiping down the counters. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure things are in order. People usually come in after work so the evenings are our busiest time. We handle a lot of loose grains and pulses that we weigh out for customers. The floor has some scuffs from moving heavy crates around for years. It isn’t a polished supermarket but we have what most kitchens need. We stay open late most nights because people always realize they forgot something at the last minute. It's just a normal part of life in Subhanpura for us. We just keep working and talking to the neighbors while we pack their bags.
