Honest Store

The shop is at number 8 on Ghee Kanta Road, inside the Lokhandwala Complex in Nagarwada. We are pretty easy to find because the Raopura Tower is nearby and the Amba Mata Mandir is just down the way. You can often hear the bells from the temple in the mornings and evenings when they do the prayers. Ghee Kanta Road is always moving. There are people, scooters, and carts everywhere. Our shop is just a small slice of that busy life. It’s a simple place. We call it Honest Store because that is how we like to run things, just plain and simple with no tricks. The walls have a few cracks here and there and the paint is peeling a little near the ceiling, but it doesn't bother anyone. We spend our days chatting with the people who come in for their daily needs. We don't have a uniform or a corporate policy. If someone is short a few rupees, we usually just tell them to bring it next time they pass by. It’s that kind of place. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what you need in the piles. But we don't mind looking for you. Being near the tower and the mandir makes us feel like we are at the heart of the old city. We just open up early, sweep the front, and wait for the day to start.
