Gupta Khaman House

You can find Gupta Khaman House over on 3rd A Cross near Magadi Main Road in Manjalpur. It’s a small shop, mostly known by the folks who live around here. We start pretty early in the morning, getting the steam going for the khaman. The air gets thick with steam and that yellow mustard smell. It's just a simple setup, nothing like those big modern cafes you see opening up everywhere. We have a few counters and some space to move around, but it gets tight when the morning crowd arrives. We’ve been at this for a while, and the floor is a bit worn from all the walking back and forth. My family helps out a lot, especially when it’s a holiday and everyone wants snacks for their guests. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us making sure the batches come out okay. Sometimes the batch is a little different depending on the day, but that’s just how cooking goes. We try to keep things moving so nobody has to wait too long out on the sidewalk. It’s a decent neighborhood to be in, even if the traffic on the main road gets a bit loud sometimes. We just open up, do the work, and head home when the trays are empty. It’s an honest day's work and we've gotten used to the pace of it. The morning fog often mixes with the steam from our pots during winter.
