Gopal Sweet & Juice Corner

Gopal Sweet & Juice Corner is a small shop located on Palace Road in Chembur East. We have the juice machines right at the front so people can see the fruit being squeezed and know it's fresh. It gets very hot in the afternoons, so the juice side of the business does well then. We also have a glass case full of sweets like barfi and various types of ladoos. It’s a tiny space, so most people just stand on the pavement while they drink their mosambi or pineapple juice. We keep some plastic stools out, but they are usually taken by the regulars. The floor gets wet from the ice melting and the fruit being washed, so we are always mopping it up. My brother and I run the place together. We start early to get the sweets ready before the morning rush starts. Chembur East is a busy area, and being near Palace Road means there’s always someone walking past. We don't do any advertising or social media. People just see the fruit piled up in the crates and stop by. Sometimes we run out of oranges or watermelons by five o'clock and have to close that side early. We try to keep things simple and clean. It’s a lot of work handling the fruit and the sugar every day, but it's what we know how to do. The shop has been here for years, and we haven't changed much.
