Deepika Kirana Store

We run Deepika Kirana Store on Hirni Road, not far from the Golden Chokdi. It is a busy road with lots of trucks and cars passing by all the time. The shop gets quite a bit of noise from the traffic, but we are used to it by now. We focus on selling kirana items, the stuff you need for daily cooking like lentils, spices, and flour. I wake up early every day to open the shop because the workers heading out for the day like to buy their supplies early. We have a lot of regular customers who live in the nearby houses. Some of them have been coming to us for years. I try to keep the prices steady, even when things get more expensive elsewhere. It is a small space, so we have to be clever about where we put everything. Sometimes it is hard to find a specific spice jar if I have not put it back in the right spot. We do not have any employees, just family members taking turns behind the counter. It is a simple business. We do not do home delivery or anything complicated. People just walk in, get what they need, and head out. We like the way things are. Hirni Road is a good place to be, and we know our neighbors well. We are just here doing our job and helping people get their groceries.
