I work out of my place in Shahivilla Apartment, which is right near Akshar Chowk on Old Padra Road. I’ve always liked cooking for people, so I turned it into a small business. I mostly do home-style meals for people who are too busy to cook for themselves or for small family get-togethers. Being in Room 704, it’s not a big commercial kitchen, just a regular home setup where I try out different recipes. People call me up when they want something that doesn't taste like it came from a big restaurant. I handle everything myself, from buying the vegetables at the market to doing the actual cooking and packing. Sometimes it gets a bit hectic when I have three or four orders at the same time, but I try to keep it organized. I don't use any pre-made stuff or frozen ingredients if I can help it. It’s just me in the kitchen, making sure the salt is right and the spices aren't too much.
