Agrawal Sweet & Milk Centre

At Makarpura 2, specifically in Laxmi Bhavan near the Air Force area, you will find Agrawal Sweet & Milk Centre. This place stays quite busy because we are right in the Main Bazar. We start very early in the morning to get the fresh milk ready and start making the sweets for the day. You can always smell the sugar and the frying snacks from down the street. The counters are made of glass so you can see all the different types of barfi and gulab jamun we have made. We have a few big pots in the back where the milk is boiled. It’s a hot job but we are used to the heat by now. People from the Air Force base and the local families come here for their daily milk or to pick up something sweet for a celebration. The floor can get a bit sticky by the end of the day but we scrub it down every night. There is always a lot of shouting and talking in the Main Bazar, which makes the shop feel very alive. We don't have a lot of space for people to sit, so most just grab what they need and go. We take pride in making sure everything is fresh. It’s a family-run kind of thing and we have been at Laxmi Bhavan for quite some time now. We just keep doing our work and serving the local crowd. It’s a good life here in the bazar area.
