Agrawal Sweet & Farshan

Being located at B 22 inside the Ongc Colony means we pretty much know every person who walks through our door. We have been making various sweets and farshan here for a long time. It is a relatively small shop, but we try to pack it full of containers and jars. We make all the snacks in small batches so they stay as crunchy as possible for the customers. Sometimes the air inside gets really heavy with the smell of hot ghee and boiling sugar. We don't do any of that fancy gift packaging unless someone specifically asks us for a box. Most of the people just want a kilo of something put into a simple plastic bag to take home. We work very long hours, especially when the festival season comes around. That is the time when things get really crazy and we barely have enough time to sit down for a break. My whole family usually comes in to help out during those busy weeks. We don't follow any kind of corporate handbook or special rules here. We just cook the things that people tell us they like to eat. Sometimes the way we arrange the snacks on the shelf changes, depending on what we happened to fry that morning. It is a simple and honest business. We genuinely like the quick chats we have with our neighbors while they are waiting for their orders.
