Agrawal Provision Store

Being at 149 Salapose Road in Vadodara means we see a lot of people moving back and forth all day. The shop is filled with bags of grain and stacks of oil tins. It's an old building, so the walls have some marks and the floor is worn down from years of boots and sandals walking over it. We deal with the usual stuff like dal, rice, and soaps. Some mornings are really quiet, and I just spend the time rearranging the biscuit packets or checking the dates on the milk packets. Then it gets busy and everyone wants something at the same time. We have those big jars for loose items that we’ve had since the start. The lighting isn't the brightest in the back, but we know where everything is kept. Sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the truck to come through the narrow street. It can be a bit of a headache with the traffic on Salapose Road. We don't have a big staff, just us family members taking turns at the counter. It's hard work, lifting heavy sacks and standing for hours, but it’s what we know how to do. The neighborhood has seen many shops come and go, but we are still here at number 149, just selling groceries to the same families year after year.
