Shreenath Tent & Decorators

If you go down Ashok Nagar Main Road to number 3, you will find Shreenath Tent & Decorators. It is more of a warehouse than a shop, really. We have a lot of big iron poles and heavy bundles of colorful cloth stacked up everywhere. When there is a wedding or a big function, the whole place turns into a mess of loading and unloading. We have these old trucks that we park out front, and the boys spend all morning tossing folded chairs and rolls of carpet into the back. It is heavy work and everyone is usually sweating. We don't have a fancy office. There is just a desk in the corner with a lot of notebooks where we write down the dates and what equipment is out where. Sometimes the lights for the decorations get tangled, and we spend hours sitting on the floor just untying knots. The cloth for the tents has to be washed and dried, so you might see long strips of yellow or red fabric hanging out to dry when the weather is good. It is a bit chaotic, but we know where everything is. People come in to pick out colors for their parties, and we pull out dusty samples from the shelves to show them. It's just a lot of manual labor and keeping track of things. We work until the last truck is back.
