Padmawati Tent House

We are Padmawati Tent House, located at Nehru Bazar 74. Our place is more of a storage warehouse than a fancy shop. It’s filled with folded up carpets, stacked metal chairs, and huge rolls of colorful cloth. We spend most of our time out on the road, loading and unloading the old trucks. Setting up a big tent for a function takes a lot of sweat and a few people working together for hours. Sometimes the wind makes it really hard to get the heavy fabric straight. We’ve been working out of Nehru Bazar for a long time. The street is always narrow and crowded, so getting our trucks in and out is a bit of a nightmare every single day. We don't have a fancy office to show people photos of our work on a screen. Most people just come in and tell us how many guests they are having and what colors they want for the theme. We write everything down in a big ledger book with a pen. Sometimes we get a bit behind when multiple events happen on the same day in different parts of town. It’s a lot of physical labor, and my back usually aches by the evening. We don’t do any big marketing or online ads. Word of mouth from one neighbor to another is how we get most of our work. We just try to get the poles in the ground.
