About Shree Matehwari D J Sound & Tent House – Event & Planning in Udaipur
If you live in Bichhadi, you’ve probably heard us before you saw us. We run the Shree Matehwari D J Sound & Tent House. Our storage space is full of big black speakers, miles of tangled wires, and those heavy metal frames for tents. It’s a noisy business. When there's a festival or a wedding, we are the ones loading up the rickshaws with amplifiers and subwoofers. I’ve spent many nights sitting behind a mixing board, making sure the music is loud enough for everyone to dance. It’s hard on the ears, I suppose, but you get used to it. The tent side of the business is more about physical labor. We have these big rolls of colorful cloth and hundreds of lights that we have to check one by one. Bichhadi is a nice place, but moving all this gear around the narrow streets can be tricky. I spend a lot of time testing the equipment. There's nothing worse than a speaker failing in the middle of a party. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the iron poles or the dusty carpets. We aren't a big corporate company. It’s just us, some heavy speakers, and a lot of work during the peak season. When it's quiet, I spend my time repairing the broken wires and cleaning the speaker cones. It’s a lot of work, but someone has to make the noise. We also have those big generators for when the power goes out at night.
