You will find us on the road that leads to the Government Senior Secondary School in Sagtara. Being here in Udaipur, Rajasthan, means we deal with a lot of heat for most of the year. The school is a plain building but it has enough room for the kids who come from the surrounding neighborhoods. We spend our mornings getting the classrooms ready and making sure the water coolers are filled up. People around here know the school well because it has been on this road for a good while. We have a mix of younger and older kids. The noise starts around eight in the morning and does not really stop until the afternoon. We have a few trees in the front that give a bit of shade where the staff stands sometimes. It is not a very complicated operation. We just follow the schedule and make sure the students are where they are supposed to be. Sometimes the bells don't ring exactly on time because someone forgot to look at the clock, but we manage. The floors are made of stone and they stay relatively cool even in May. We have some charts on the walls that are a bit faded from the sun. It is just a normal school day for us, watching the traffic go by on the road and making sure the children are learning their lessons. We are just regular people working here in Sagtara.
