Government Girls Higher Secondary School

This school is located right in the heart of Udaipur City. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets around here. Government Girls Higher Secondary School has been standing in this spot for many years. Every morning, the streets are filled with girls in their uniforms walking through the gates. The building is old, with thick stone walls that keep it somewhat cool during the Rajasthan summers. Inside, the hallways are long and always have someone hurrying down them. We have many classrooms filled with wooden benches. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy because the city traffic is just outside, but the students are used to it by now. The teachers carry stacks of notebooks and move from one room to another all day. In the back, there is a small space where the girls gather for their morning assembly. It’s not a fancy place with modern decorations. It’s a government school, so things are functional and plain. We deal with the usual problems like leaky taps or fans that need fixing, but we manage. The main focus is just getting the classes done and helping the girls finish their higher secondary education. People from all over the city send their daughters here. It is a regular part of the neighborhood, and it feels like a second home to many of us who work here.
