Parihar'S Art Gallery

We’re down in the basement at Hitwala 2nd. The address is 13/3C, Sahelion Ki Badi Road. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler when the Udaipur sun is beating down outside, which we all appreciate during the summer months. Parihar'S Art Gallery has a lot of paintings and frames leaning against the walls. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes, especially when we get new pieces in and haven't found a spot for them yet. The road outside is always busy with tourists going to see the gardens nearby, so we hear a lot of chatter from the street level. We have some old track lighting to show off the art, but half the time one of the bulbs is flickering and needs a tap. We spend our days cleaning glass and making sure the frames are straight. It’s quiet work, for the most part. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If someone asks for a specific style, we usually have to dig through a few stacks to find it. The floor is stone and can be a bit cold on the feet in the winter. We keep a small radio playing some local music in the background to keep things lively while we work. It’s a simple shop, and we like it that way. We don't do much advertising; people just wander in.
