Kamal Arts

I work out of a small space in Kangi Ka Hata, specifically at 113-B. It is more of a workshop than anything else. There is usually a lot of dust and the smell of paint and thinners in the air. I have brushes and cans of color sitting on almost every flat surface. People bring me all sorts of things they want painted or worked on. Sometimes it is a sign for a new shop, and other times it is something more decorative. I have been doing this kind of work for most of my life. I don't have a showroom or a fancy office where I meet people. We just talk right here among the scraps of wood and half-finished projects. It is a bit crowded in here and you have to be careful where you step so you don't knock over a jar of water. The light isn't always the best in the back of the shop, so I do most of my fine work near the front door where the sun comes in. I don't really have set hours; I just work until the job is done or until I get too tired to see the lines clearly. It is a quiet neighborhood for the most part, except for the neighbors talking and the occasional bike going past. I just keep my head down and focus on the colors. It is a simple way to spend the day.
