National Arts

You can find us at 17 Lake Palace Road, right near Rang Niwas and the post office. It’s a good spot in Udaipur because it’s close to everything but feels a bit tucked away too. We deal in arts of different kinds. The mornings are usually the best time here. It’s quiet and we can get a lot of work done before the heat kicks in. We spend a lot of time cleaning the frames and checking the canvases. Dust is a constant battle in this part of town. The post office nearby is a landmark everyone knows, so we just tell people to look for that. Our building is an older style and the rooms stay relatively cool. We have a few benches for people to sit on while they look around. There’s no rush here. We don't believe in pushing people to buy things they don't want. Most of the time we are just chatting with whoever walks in. The walls are covered in all sorts of pieces we’ve collected or made. It’s a bit disorganized if you look closely, but we know where everything is. Life moves a little slower on Lake Palace Road and we like it that way. We take our tea breaks outside and watch the tourists walking towards the lake. It’s a nice way to spend the day and we feel lucky to be here.
