Gajanand Handicrafts

You can find us at 97 Gangaur Ghat, right near the Sai Baba Temple. It’s a beautiful spot to be, especially in the late afternoon when the light hits the water. We have been running Gajanand Handicrafts here for a long time. Our shop isn't very large, but we pack it with as many local items as we can fit. We have a lot of things made by hand, like small statues, jewelry, and some cloth items. Because we are so close to the temple, we get a lot of people passing by on their way to pray or just to see the ghats. It’s a noisy, happy part of town. We usually have the doors wide open to let the breeze in from the lake. Sometimes the monkeys from the nearby trees come by, so we have to keep an eye on things. It’s just me and a couple of helpers most days. We don't have a big corporate plan; we just want to sell the things that the local artisans bring to us. Each item has a little bit of a story, even if we don't always know all the details. We like the rhythm of this neighborhood. The morning starts with the temple bells, and the evening ends with the lights reflecting on the water. It’s a simple life, and we are happy to be part of the community here at Gangaur Ghat for all these years.
