Ashish Tent House

We've been at this spot in Hiran Magri Sector-14 for a good while now. It's number 165, just near the main road. Most days you’ll find us sorting through heavy rolls of fabric or checking the metal poles for any bends. Being in the tent business means we are usually out more than we are in. A lot of our time goes into loading up the truck and heading out to some field or a garden for a wedding or a small family gathering nearby. It gets dusty and the sun can be quite a lot during the afternoons here, but we just get on with it. My father started this and now we just keep it going. There’s no fancy office or anything, just a lot of stuff piled up and a couple of guys who know how to tie a knot that won't slip when the wind picks up. Sometimes a customer comes by looking for a specific color of curtain and we have to dig through the whole stack to find it. It's not glamorous work, but it pays the bills and we know most of the families around this part of Udaipur. People just drop in, have a quick tea, and tell us when their next function is. We don't do much advertising because everyone around here already knows where we are. It’s just how it works in Sector-14.
