Art Fact

Our shop is called Art Fact and we are located at 79 Gangaur Ghat. We’re really close to Hotel Anjani, so we see a lot of people walking down to the water. The area is always busy with tourists and locals, especially around sunset. We sell different kinds of art and things made by hand. The shop isn’t very big, so we have to be careful how we stack everything. Usually, I spend my morning dusting the paintings and making sure the little statues are lined up right. It’s a nice place to work because you can hear the sounds from the ghats all day. Sometimes we sit outside on the step when it’s quiet. People stop by to ask directions to the lake as much as they do to look at the art. We don’t have any big sales pitches; we just let people walk around and look at what we have on the walls. If they like something, we wrap it up in brown paper and string. It’s a simple way to spend the day. The building is old, like most things around here, so it has its quirks like squeaky doors and uneven floors. We like being part of the scene at Gangaur Ghat. It’s just a regular local shop where we sell what we have and enjoy the view of the water when we finally get a break in the afternoon.
