About The Presidency Public School – Education in Tumakuru
We are located on Amarapura Road in the Gurukula Extension of Sira. It’s a part of town that is still growing, so you see a lot of new houses around us. The school is a simple building with a gate and a small yard. We aren't a high-end academy with lots of money. We are just a local school for the families in the Tumkur district. The classrooms are basic and we use chalkboards. We don’t have any polished marketing materials. Most people find us just by walking past or hearing from their neighbors. The teachers are mostly local residents who care about the kids. We spend a lot of time on the mundane things like checking uniforms and keeping the records straight. The road outside can get quite dusty, especially when the wind blows across the open fields. We don't have any air conditioning, so the ceiling fans stay on all day long. It gets quite warm in the afternoons. We know all the children by name. It feels like a very small, close-knit place. We don't make big promises or talk about being the best around. We just open up the school every morning and get through the lessons. The staff room is always a bit messy with tea cups and papers. It’s an honest, practical place to work and learn. We just take it one day at a time and do our jobs.
