Navodaya School is out on Madhugiri Road in Tumkur. It is a bit away from the main town center, so it feels a little more open out here. The school building is a simple structure that has been standing for a while. We have a playground area in the front where the kids gather for assembly every morning before they head into their rooms. The wind picks up a lot of dust from the road, so we are always sweeping the floors to keep the place looking decent. It is a local school through and through. Most of the families around Madhugiri send their children here because it is convenient. We have basic classrooms with benches that are a bit worn out, but they serve their purpose well enough. There isn't any fancy tech or big displays, just the usual boards and maps on the walls. The teachers spend their breaks in a small room at the end of the hall, usually checking notebooks or talking about the day's schedule. When it rains, you can hear it hitting the roof quite loudly, which sometimes makes it hard to hear the lessons. We just manage with what we have and keep the day moving along. It is a quiet life out here on the edge of town, and we just focus on the daily routine of bells and classes. It stays pretty peaceful once the children go home.
