R. T. Hallow Blocks

We are located out here in Thayanur Chandai, right near the National Banana Research Center. If you know that area, you know it stays pretty busy with agricultural stuff and people moving back and forth. R. T. Hallow Blocks has been sitting here for a while now, just doing what we do with concrete and sand. It’s not a quiet job, that’s for sure. The machines for the blocks make a lot of noise starting early in the morning, and there is always dust on everything, even our tea cups. We spend most of the day mixing, molding, and letting things dry out in the sun. Some days the sun is really beating down on the yard, but the work has to get done so the trucks can get loaded. Local builders come by with their own transport or we figure out how to get the blocks to their sites. It’s a messy business, and our clothes usually show it by lunchtime. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a yard with stacks of blocks and the smell of wet cement in the air. People around here know the landmark of the research center, so they find us easily enough. We just keep our heads down and keep the blocks moving out. It is steady work, and we like being part of how the local houses get built up around Thayanur.
