Swami Vivekananda College

You can find Swami Vivekananda College at the Vyasa Annexe, right next to the Vyasa School in Chalakudy. Being here in Thrissur means we are surrounded by a lot of greenery, which is nice when you need a break from the books. The building is pretty modest, just a set of rooms where we hold our classes and keep our records. It’s a very local vibe, with many of our students coming from the surrounding villages and towns in Kerala. The rain can be quite heavy around here, so we spend a lot of time making sure the umbrellas are lined up and the floors aren't too slippery. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles or a huge marketing budget. The staff is just a group of people who show up every day to teach and manage the administration. Sometimes the schedule gets a bit messy, or a class has to be moved because of a local festival, but we always manage to figure it out. The canteen is small, and the tea is usually very sweet, which is how most people here like it anyway. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except for when the students are changing classes. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just running a college for the local community. It is a plain, honest place where people come to get their work done and go home.
