Mpt School

If you follow Chembakur Road out in Kappalle, you will find Mpt School tucked away. It is a quiet spot most of the time, except when the school day starts. We have been part of this community for a long time now. We are not a very large school, but we have enough room for the kids from the nearby houses and farms. The road outside can get a bit dusty during the dry months, so we are always sweeping the hallways to keep them clean. We have a few trees in the front that give some shade during the hot afternoons. Most of the teachers have been working here for years, so they know exactly how things run. We do not have any fancy equipment, just the basics that are needed for daily classes. Lunch is usually brought from home in tiffin carriers, and you can smell the different foods in the air around noon. The children like to run around the back where there is a bit of open space. Kappalle is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business, so the school is a bit of a hub. We see the same faces every day. It is a simple routine of morning prayers, lessons, and a bit of play. We try to keep the building in good shape, but it is an old place and needs a lot of looking after. That is just part of the job here.
