Kodungallur is a place with a lot of green trees and heavy rain during the monsoon months. Our school is over in Vemballur, which is a bit quieter than the main town area. The post office is nearby, and the whole neighborhood has a slow, steady feel to it. M E S Public School is where a lot of local kids from this part of Thrissur district come to study. The building is simple and has been around for some time. We spend a lot of time just managing the day-to-day things, like making sure the roof is okay before the rains start or fixing the fans in the classrooms. It’s a very local atmosphere here. People speak naturally, and everyone knows the families who live down the road. We don't have fancy tech in every corner; we mostly rely on blackboards and textbooks. The playground gets a bit muddy when it pours, but that doesn't stop the kids from playing. Teachers usually sit together during lunch and talk about local news or school work. It’s not a complicated place. We just want the students to learn their lessons and be ready for their exams. The evenings are peaceful when the bells finally ring and the kids head home through the coconut groves. It’s just a regular school life here in a small corner of Kerala.
