Chaldean Syrian Higher Secondary School

Our school is situated on Latin Church Road, not too far from Erinjeri Angadi. It’s a very old part of town, and the school has been around for quite a long time. You can see the age of the place in the high ceilings and the thick walls of the main building. Being so close to the market means there is always a lot of activity nearby. The sounds of the shops and the traffic are just part of the background here. We have a lot of students, especially in the higher secondary classes, so the place stays busy from morning until late afternoon. The teachers here are very dedicated, even if they don't have all the newest equipment to work with. They rely on their experience and the textbooks. We have a library that’s a bit cramped, but it has all the essentials. During the monsoon, the rain on the roof makes so much noise you can hardly hear the teacher, but we just carry on. The students come from all different backgrounds around this part of the city. We don’t try to be anything we aren't; we are just a local school providing an education to the community. It’s a place with a lot of character and many stories in the walls. Most of the families around here have sent their kids to us for generations, and we plan to keep things going just as they are.
