Valayam Granites Private Limited is tucked away at House No - Ix/81 in Kottaravila. We are part of the Cheriyakonni community in Thiruvananthapuram. It is a quiet enough place until the machines start running. Granite work is loud and heavy, so there is no hiding what we do. We have been at this spot in Kerala for a good while. The office isn't much to look at, just a place to keep the books and take a break from the sun. We are just a local crew doing our thing with stone. There is no big mystery to it. We get the granite, we move it, and we try to keep things moving along. Some days the rain comes down hard and we have to slow down, but that’s just how it goes in this part of the country. We aren't interested in sounding like a big city corporation. We talk like the people who live here because we are the people who live here. The work is hard on the hands and the back, but it’s honest. You can find us easily enough if you are in the Cheriyakonni neighborhood. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay out of trouble. It’s a basic business run by people who know their way around a piece of rock. That’s all there is to it. Most of the folks here have been with us for years, so it’s like a second home for us.
