A.V. Marble Palace

A.V. Marble Palace is over in Kaniyapuram, right near the Channankara Road. The building is number 732, and we’ve been here at Ap/10F for a while. It’s a decent-sized place, but we always seem to run out of room for all the stone we want to keep. We get a lot of people stopping by because they’re working on houses nearby. Usually, they just want to see the different patterns and feel the surface of the marble. We spend a lot of time moving pieces around so the light hits them right. It’s not always easy work because those slabs are heavy and you have to be careful not to chip the edges. The road outside can get pretty busy, so there’s always a bit of noise from the cars passing by. We try to keep the front of the shop clean, but with marble, there’s always some dust. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights and all that. It’s just the slabs leaning against the walls and us showing people what’s in stock. Sometimes we have to tell people to wait a bit while we find someone to help move the heavy stuff. It’s just how things go here. We know the local area well and most of the people who come in are from just a few miles away. We just take it one day at a time, checking the crates and talking to the customers.
