Apa Saloon

Apa Saloon is situated at No 4/515 on Tiruvengadam Street in Medavakkam. You can find us in Pudhu Nagar, right opposite Vidhya Matriculation School. Being across from a school means it gets very loud and busy when the kids are coming or going. We see a lot of parents and teachers passing by our door every day. Chennai can get really hot, so we try to keep the saloon as cool as possible for anyone who steps inside. The street itself is typical for Medavakkam—a bit narrow and always something happening. Our shop is simple with a few chairs and the usual tools of the trade like scissors and combs. We don't have any neon signs or glossy posters on the windows. It’s just a place where you can come in for a decent haircut without any fuss. Sometimes we have to wait a bit for the water to run clear or for the power to come back if there's a local cut, but we manage. We know most of the people who live on Tiruvengadam Street by name now. It’s a neighborhood spot through and through. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just provide a service to the local community and try to keep our station clean and our scissors sharp for the next person who walks in.
