My garage is out in Barbodhan, and if you live around here, you’ve probably seen me covered in grease more than once. It’s a simple setup I have. I have my tools, a few spare parts on the rack, and enough space to work on a couple of vehicles at a time. I mostly handle whatever rolls in, whether it’s a bike that won’t start or a car making a weird knocking sound from the engine. It’s dusty work, especially in the summer when the wind picks up, but I’ve been doing this for a long time now. People in the village know where to find me when their transport acts up or needs a bit of oil. I don't have any fancy diagnostic machines or computers here. I just use my ears and my hands to figure out what’s wrong. Sometimes I have to wait a couple of days for parts to come in from the city, but folks around here are patient enough. The shop isn't much to look at, just a shed with some old tires piled up outside and a workbench that’s seen better days. I usually have the radio playing some music in the background while I work. It’s just me and maybe a helper sometimes if the work piles up too much after a storm. I like the work because it keeps my mind busy every day. Every engine has its own problems to solve. It’s a basic life, but it’s what I know.
